Olympus BX53M Polarizing Microscope

Olympus BX53M Polarizing Microscope

Function Introduction:

The Olympus BX53M polarizing microscope is equipped with a polarizer, analyzer, and compensators. It utilizes polarized light for observation and quantitative analysis of anisotropic samples—such as crystals, minerals, and biological materials—in both transmission and reflection modes, with a maximum magnification of 1000x.

Main Technical Parameters:

1. Microscope Body & Optical System: Transmission/reflection microscope body featuring the UIS2 infinity-corrected optical system .

2. Light Source: Long-life, high-brightness LED illumination for both transmission and reflection .

3. Observation Modes: Transmitted/reflected brightfield (BF), transmitted/reflected polarized light (with 360° adjustable polarizer), orthoscopic polarization, and conoscopic observation (Bertrand lens).

4. Rapid Focusing: Coarse focus knob with a scale for quick focus positioning.

5. Optical Magnification Range: 50x to 1000x .

6. Observation Tube: Wide-field trinocular tube (100:0, 50:50, 0:100 beam splitting). Includes one 10x widefield eyepiece and one 10x high-eyepoint, diopter-adjustable eyepiece with a reticle, offering large, comfortable viewing .

7. Field Number (FN): 26.5 .

8. Strain-Free Objectives for Polarization:

  10x: Numerical Aperture (N.A.) ≥ 0.25, Working Distance (W.D.) ≥ 6.0 mm

  20x: N.A. ≥ 0.50, W.D. ≥ 2.1 mm

  40x: N.A. ≥ 0.75, W.D. ≥ 0.51 mm

  100x: N.A. ≥ 1.3, W.D. ≥ 0.20 mm

9. Objective Micrometer: 1 mm / 100 divisions.

10. Stage: 360° rotatable, centerable stage, lockable at any position; graduation: 1° increment (minimum 6' with vernier scale) .

11. Focusing Mechanism: Focus travel 25 mm; fine-focus travel 100 µm/rev; minimum gradation 1 µm; equipped with an upper limit stop and torque adjustment for the coarse focus knob .

12. Maximum Sample Height: ≥ 35 mm .

13. Wave Compensators: Fully independent full-wave (1λ, gypsum) plate, quarter-wave (1/4λ, mica) plate, and Brace-Koehler compensator (1/10λ) .

14. Microscope Digital Camera: Effective pixels ≥ 18 MP; maximum frame rate ≥ 60 fps .
